What is Noorani Qaida?
Noorani Qaida is a beginner’s guide to learning the recitation and pronunciation of the Quran, the holy book of Islam. It is a fundamental primer used to teach individuals, particularly children, the basic rules of Arabic script and how to correctly pronounce the Arabic letters and words of the Quran. The term “Noorani” is derived from the Arabic word “Noor,” which means light, and it emphasizes the idea of illuminating the path to understanding the Quranic text.
Noorani Qaida covers the introduction to Arabic alphabets, Tajweed rules for proper Quranic pronunciation, connecting letters to form words, and includes basic Quranic vocabulary to help learners build understanding.

What the student study in This Noorani Qaidah Course?
Arabic Letters (One by One)
In this first lesson, in which the learner study the Arabic letters one by one such as (ا، ب، ت، ث، ج،…) which are twenty eight Arabic letters (if we considered Al-Hamza as a single letter and Al-Alif is belonging to it).
Compound Arabic Letters
The learner studies Compound letters after learning them one by one. They will learn how to pronounce two letters or more together to be able to distinguish between them easily, such as (با ، لح ، لا ،etc.).
The Huroof Muqata'aat
After studying Haroof ul Hija al Mufrada and huroof al hija al muraqabah, the student starts learning The Huroof e Muqata'at in the Holy Quran to pronounce them as letters not words, such as: آلم ,يس, etc.
The Harakat
This is the beginning of starting Tashkeel and Harakat. Simply, Arabic letters have various ways of reading. Thus, Harakat come as symbols to guide us how the Arabic letter should be pronounced. They are three Types (Al- Fath, Al-Kasr, and Al-Dam)!
Al-Tanween
Al-Tanween means adding the sound of Noon Sakina at the end of the noun as an indefinite article or when its identity is not known, but it’s pronounced in case of stopping on the word, and it has three types (Tanween Al-Fath, Al-Kasr, and Al-Dam).
Standing Harakat
Standing Fathah, Standing Kasrah, and Standing Dhammah are different from regular Fathah, Kasrah, and Dhammah, as the latter is just used in Quran (Uthmani Script), and they are also longer. It's one of the most noorani qaida lessons as it’s related to Quran.
Madd and Leen
Al-Mad is one of the important lessons of Noorani Qaida for beginners, which means to prolong the letter. While the Mad Letters are Alif, Ya’, and Waw, the Leen letters are just Ya’ and Waw.
Al-Sukon
Al-Sukon means pronouncing the letter without adding any vowel sound or Harakah. The teachers focus so much with kids and beginners so that they can differentiate between similar letters such as ذ، س.
Al-Tashdeed
Al-Tasheed means merging the same two letters into one letter, the first one is Sakin and the second one has a harakah, and it has three types, (Tashdeed Al-Fath, Tashdeed Al-Kasr, and Tashdeed Al-Dam).
