When it comes to Quran memorization, many Muslim youths who want to be a Hafiz suffer from not being able to memorize the Holy Qur’an easily, as some of them begin to memorize, but as soon as they start, they stop.

This happens for many reasons, and In my opinion, the main reason is the feeling of hopelessness, and that they are unable to memorize. And for this reason, I’m writing this article to let you know about a simplified and proven plan that will Inshallah be your guide, and help you memorize the Quran easily; so kindly keep reading:

Memorization Plan in 3 years:

Today, our memorization plan will try to help you figure out how to memorize the Quran in 3 years? To suit your different preferences, we organized two memorization plans; a monthly plan, and a weekly plan.

The Quranic memorization courses at Shaykhi Academy incorporate these plans, and others as well, in order to help you in your memorization journey.

The Monthly Plan to Memorize the Quran in 3 years:

This three-year monthly plan is designed to guide you through the stages of Quranic memorization, recognizing that this spiritual endeavor requires both discipline and a deep connection with the verses. Let’s delve into each phase to comprehend the intricacies of this transformative journey.

1- Months 1-6: Familiarization:

In the initial months, focus on building a solid foundation by memorizing shorter chapters such as Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas. These concise Surahs will serve as the building blocks for your Quranic knowledge.

Establish a daily routine, dedicating specific time for memorization, and integrate regular revisions to fortify your grasp on the verses. Seek guidance from mentors or group settings to enhance your understanding and pronunciation.

2- Months 7-12: Surah Al-Baqarah:

Transition into the formidable task of memorizing Surah Al-Baqarah, the longest chapter in the Quran. Break down this Surah into manageable sections, ensuring a thorough comprehension of its themes.

As you delve into Al-Baqarah, continue to memorize other medium-length Surahs simultaneously, maintaining a balance in your memorization repertoire. Consistent daily efforts and attention to pronunciation are paramount.

3- Months 13-18: Continuation:

Building upon the momentum gained in the first year, continue the memorization of Surah Al-Baqarah and introduce variety by incorporating Surahs from different parts of the Quran.

Regular assessments will help identify areas that require additional focus. Strengthen your memorization routine and refine your recitation skills, keeping an eye on both quality and quantity.

4- Months 19-24: Juz Amma:

Shift your focus to the last Juz, containing shorter chapters, during this phase. This section offers a change of pace while allowing you to delve into the meanings and lessons of each Surah.

Increase the frequency of revision sessions, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the chapters memorized thus far. Strive for a balance between the longer chapters and the shorter ones to diversify your memorization experience.

5- Months 25-30: Complete Memorization:

Approaching the final year, concentrate on completing the memorization of any remaining portions of the Quran. Devote considerable time to comprehensive reviews of the entire Quran, addressing any weak points, and refining your recitation.

Seek certification from reputable institutions to validate your efforts and consider it a testament to your dedication and achievement.

6- Comprehensive Review and Continuous Learning:

Even after completing the memorization, the journey doesn’t end; it transforms into a continuous process of review and deepening understanding.

Consistent daily revision remains crucial, and ongoing study of the Quran will further enrich your connection with the divine verses. This final phase marks not just the culmination of your memorization journey but the beginning of a lifelong relationship with the Quran.

The Weekly Plan to Memorize the Quran in 3 years:

The plan is structured to gradually build your proficiency and understanding, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of the Quran by the end of the three years.

1- The First Week:

In the initial phase, focus on memorizing one side of a page from Saturday to Wednesday. Repeat reciting this portion 20 times each day, and conduct a daily revision, covering a quarter of what you memorized.

On Thursday and Friday, review the newly memorized material, repeating it 30 to 50 times. By the end of the first month, you would have completed a Juzz (portion) of the Quran, equivalent to about five pages per week.

2- The Fifth Week:

Take a break from memorizing during the fifth week to review the Juzz memorized in that month. Repeat this plan for the second, third, fourth, and fifth months, maintaining the consistent pace of memorization.

3- After Six Months and a Week:

Pause memorization for two weeks to thoroughly review the five Juzz you’ve learned. During this time, engage in daily revisions, ranging from one hizb to one Juz’, depending on your ability. This routine is crucial for reinforcing what you’ve memorized.

4- Next 6 Months:

Congratulations on completing the first phase! Begin the second part of the plan by learning one new side every day. Additionally, daily reviews should now include going over two Rub’s to a Hizb from your previous memorization.

Allocate both Thursdays and Fridays to review the material learned during the week. At the end of each month, take a week-long break to review 2 Rubs a day from what you’ve memorized in that month.

5- Every Six Months:

Continue this cycle every six months, where you temporarily halt memorization for two weeks to review the five new Juzz. During this period, daily revisions will vary from one hizb to one Juz’, adapting to your comfort and proficiency level. Consistency with this plan, coupled with faith, will guide you towards achieving the remarkable feat of memorizing the entire Quran.

Tips on How to Memorize the Quran Quickly:

Many people attempt to memorize the Quran quickly; as learning it quickly allows them to acquire deep Islamic knowledge, and help them in performing the required Islamic practices.

1- Consistent Daily Practice:

Consistency is key when aiming to memorize the Quran quickly. Establish a daily routine for memorization and stick to it. Regular, shorter study sessions are often more effective than sporadic, lengthy ones. Consistent practice helps reinforce what you’ve learned and improves retention.

2- Effective Repetition Techniques:

Utilize effective repetition methods to reinforce memorization. Repeat verses multiple times during each session, and incorporate regular reviews of previously memorized material. Gradually increase the repetitions as you become more confident, ensuring a balanced approach that prevents burnout.

3- Understanding and Context:

Gain a deeper understanding of the meaning and context of the verses you are memorizing. When you comprehend the significance and message of the words, it becomes easier to remember them. Connect the verses to real-life examples or personal experiences to enhance retention and make the memorization process more meaningful.

4- Memorization Techniques:

Explore various memorization techniques, such as visualization, association, and recitation. Visualization involves creating mental images related to the verses, while association connects verses with familiar concepts. Regular recitation, especially in the melodious tones of Quranic recitation, can aid auditory learners in memorization.

5- Seek Guidance and Support:

Seek guidance from knowledgeable mentors or join Quran memorization groups. Having a supportive community can provide motivation, encouragement, and valuable insights. Share your progress with others, discuss challenges, and seek assistance when needed. A mentor can offer personalized guidance and correction, enhancing the efficiency of your memorization efforts.
