Key sayings emphasize the excellence, rewards, and spiritual sustenance of memorizing the Quran, underscoring its role in maintaining a strong connection to the divine message.

Memorizing the Quran holds profound significance in the Islamic faith, revered for its spiritual, intellectual, and communal benefits. It is considered a noble act of worship, fulfilling a fundamental duty for Muslims to preserve and transmit the divine message.

The sacred worth of memorizing the Quran is apparent in the Quran memorization courses launched by Islamic academies; such as Shaykhi Academy’s Quran memorization classes.

The Quran Memorization Quotes:

Quran memorization quotes are statements, often from Islamic scripture, scholars, or notable figures, that emphasize the importance, rewards, and virtues of memorizing the Quran.

These quotes serve to inspire and encourage individuals to commit the Quran to memory, highlighting its significance in Islamic practice and the spiritual benefits associated with this act of devotion.

These quotes don’t target adults only; as also kids have the right to memorize the Holy Quran, and that is apparent in Academies dedicating courses specially to them; for example: the Quran memorization courses for kids at Shaykhi Academy.

Hifz Motivation Quran Quotes:

Hifz Quran quotes are statements from Islamic scripture, scholars, or renowned individuals that aim to inspire and encourage individuals in their memorization (Hifz) of the Quran.

These quotes also encourage women to memorize the Quran, and that is evident in their attendance of the Quran memorization courses for women at Shaykhi Academy.

1- The Excellence of Memorizing the Quran:

Memorizing the Quran is a noble act highly praised in Islamic teachings. It is a means of drawing closer to Allah and gaining numerous rewards.

The Hadith’s translation: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best among you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it.”

2- The Reward of Reciting the Quran:

Reciting the Quran has immense rewards, and these rewards are multiplied for those who have memorized it.

The Hadith’s translation: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Recite the Quran, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection.”

3- The Impact of Consistency on Memorization:

Consistent, persistent effort in memorizing the Quran leads to fluency and ease in recitation, whereas neglecting this practice results in recitation becoming challenging and burdensome.

Translation: Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “The one who is consistent in [memorizing the Quran] will find their tongue fluent in recitation, and their recitation will become easy for them. But if they abandon it, recitation will become difficult and burdensome for them.”

4- The Everlasting Benefit of Reciting the Quran:

The Quran, through its regular recitation, can be a source of spiritual sustenance and support, helping one navigate even the most trying circumstances in life.

Translation: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Whoever recites the Quran will not regress to the lowest point in life.”

5- The Enrichment of the Mind Through Quranic Memorization:

Memorization of the Quran is not merely a feat of rote learning, but rather a gateway to the enrichment and refinement of the human mind, leading to a more profound engagement with the divine revelation.

Translation: Al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy on him) quotes some scholars as saying, “Whoever memorizes the Quran will enjoy the enrichment of his mind.”

6- Filling Hearts with the Quran:

The human heart should be dedicated solely to the study and contemplation of the Quran, without any other distractions or occupations.

Translation: Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) advises: “These hearts are vessels, so occupy them with the Quran, and do not occupy them with anything else.”

7- Acting Upon the Quran:

Reciting the Quran is an active engagement, not just a passive exercise, as the Quran is meant to be both contemplated and put into practice.

Translation: Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) stated: “The Quran was revealed to be pondered upon and acted upon, so make its recitation a form of action.”

8- Understanding and Implementing the Quran:

The purpose of memorizing the Quran is to understand its meanings and apply them in one’s life. If this is not the aim, then the memorizer is not truly a person of knowledge and religion.

Translation: Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) emphasized: “The goal of the Quran is to understand its meanings and act upon them. If this is not the aspiration of the one who memorizes it, then he is not among the people of knowledge and religion.”

9- The Endless Depth of the Quran:

The level of one’s spiritual hunger for the Quran is directly proportional to the purity and sincerity of the heart.

Translation: Amir al-Mu’minin Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) remarked: “If our hearts were pure, we would never be satiated from the words of Allah.”

10- Guidance and Protection Through Quranic Adherence:

Reciting the Quran and following its teachings will lead to divine guidance and protection from a severe reckoning on the Day of Judgment.

Translation: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) stated: “Whoever recites the Quran and follows what is in it, Allah will guide him away from misguidance and protect him from a bad reckoning on the Day of Judgment.”

11- The Quran: A Source of Guidance:

The Quran is the sole source of guidance and supplication for those seeking direction, as there is no true guidance in anything else.

Translation: Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Whoever seeks guidance, let him turn to this Quran, for it is his means of supplication and guidance. There is no guidance in anything else.”

12- The Importance of Recitation of the Quran:

Adhere to the remembrance of Allah (dhikr) and the recitation of the Quran, as they are what sustain you spiritually in the heavens and establish your good reputation among people on earth.

Translation: Al-Hafiz Al-Dhahabi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “A man said to Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): ‘Advise me, O Abu Sa’id.’ He said: ‘Adhere to the remembrance of Allah and the recitation of the Quran, for they are your spirit in the heavens and your mention among the people of the earth.”

13- The Fragrance of Memorizing the Quran:

Memorizing the Quran is holding an everlasting star in your heart, that lights up your road indefinitely.

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The example of the one who reads the Quran and memorizes it is like a bag full of musk whose fragrance permeates the entire place. And the example of the one who reads the Quran but does not memorize it is like a bag full of musk with its mouth closed; its fragrance is still present.”

14- The Preservation and Transmission of Knowledge:

The preservation of authentic religious knowledge is directly linked to the presence of knowledgeable scholars, and their absence can lead to a profound decline in the spiritual and intellectual state of the community.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray.”

15- The Ultimate Reward for Memorizing the Quran:

This highlights the eternal significance of the Quran and the importance of maintaining a strong connection to it throughout one’s life.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying, “It will be said to the companion of the Quran: Read, and elevate (through the levels of the Paradise) and beautify your voice as you used to do when you were in the world! For verily, your position in the Paradise will be at the last verse you recite!”
