If you aren’t a Muslim you may wonder why Muslims are interested in reading the Holy Quran day and night, and why they care about memorizing it, and understanding its meaning. Why do they pay all this attention to this Holy book?
We will discuss and answer these questions, so let’s begin.
What do Muslims believe about the Quran?
Muslims believe that the Holy Quran is the book revealed by Allah, the Almighty, to the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) through the Angel Gabriel (peace be upon him) more than 1,400 years ago.
Muslims worship Allah by reading His words in the Holy Quran, striving to understand its meanings, and implementing its teachings.
They also believe the Quran contains 114 chapters and is Allah’s message to humanity and jinn.
Why is the Quran important to Muslims?
Several reasons make the Quran important to Muslims, The most important reason is that:
1. The Quran revealed from Allah:
It is the word of Allah, The creator of everything, In the Holy Quran, Allah Says about the Quran:
This means that the Quran:
“A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens”
So every Muslim should listen and understand the Words of Allah.

2. The Quran is both a warning and cure:
Muslims believe that the Quran is a source of healing, mercy and guidance, In the Holy Quran Allah Says:
This means that:
“O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Quran, ordering all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences, etc.) in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things, etc.) for the believers.”
3. The Quran is a miracle:
The Quran contains historical information with accurate details that couldn’t have been known at the time it was revealed. Additionally, the Quran has been reversed in its original form, and millions of Muslims around the world memorize it.

How does the Quran guide Muslim’s daily lives
For Muslims, the Holy Quran isn’t just a book to read though they are rewarded by reciting it, for them the Quran is a comprehensive curriculum and a source of guidance.
1. The Quran is a guide to the true Acts Daily:
In daily life, sometimes we are confused about distinguishing between good and evil, right and wrong, in Quran you can find the truth and clarity, Not for Muslims only but also for many non-Muslims who, in their search for the truth, they found it in the Quran and converted to Islam after that.
In the Holy Quran, Allah Says:
This means that:
Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad SAW) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allah and Islamic Monotheism) by their Lord’s Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise. [Ibrahim: 1]

In the Quran, you can find prophets’ stories, their struggles, their suffering, their patience, and their methods for facing and overcoming challenges with the help of Allah. By understanding, and following them you can find a way to survive and succeed.
Every time you recite the Quran for a specific purpose, you will find your answer inshaAllah, and that is what the faithful Muslim did.
3. The Quran teaches good daily deeds:
In the Quran, you will find verses that talk about honesty, speaking kindly, obeying parent, and treating Muslims and non-Muslims with respect, and verses that warn you about mocking others or saying bad things about them whether in front of them or even during their absence.
Additionally, it emphasizes other good ethics and manners that organize your daily behavior with others.
The Quran serves as a road map for what to do or what to avoid. By following it, Muslims feel peace and calmness and gain reward from Allah for their good deeds and for their patience when needed.
Why is the Quran sacred to Muslims?
The Quran is sacred to Muslims because it is the word of Allah almighty that was revealed by Gabriel peace be upon him to the best mankind, prophet Mohammed peace be upon him, in the best month of the year, Ramadan, on the best night that it is the night of Al-Qdr.
Allah Says about the Quran:
This means that:
(It is only a Revelation revealed. He has been taught ( this Qur’ân ) by one mighty in power[ Jibrîl ( Gabriel )]. One free from any defect in body and mind then he ( Jibrîl – Gabriel in his real shape as created by Allah ) rose and became stable. While he [ Jibrîl ( Gabriel ) ] was in the highest part of the horizon,(Tafsir Ibn Kathir)Then he [ Jibrîl ( Gabriel ) ] approached and came closer, And was at a distance of two bows’ length or ( even ) nearer. So ( Allâh ) revealed to His slave [ Muhammad ( saas ) through Jibrîl ( Gabriel ) ( as ) ] whatever He revealed.
And the following verse speaks about Ramadan, the month that the Quran was revealed:
This means that:
(The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong))
And here is the verse that told us about the night on which the Quran was revealed:
This means that:
Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
How does the Quran help Muslims obey God?
In the Quran, you can find the law that Allah subhanhu wa tala has commanded Muslims to obey. It outlines the behavior, manners, and ethics that can lead to Jannah(paradise) and warns against those that can lead to Jahanamm(hellfire).
For any Muslim seeking the mercy of Allah in his life and the hereafter, he should follow the divine rules included in the Holy Quran, the most important rule is to worship and obey Allah.
In the Quran Alla Says:
This is means:
And I ( Allâh ) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me ( Alone )
[ Al-Zareeat:56]
So Muslims have a Holy book from their creator with explanations in detail for what they should or shouldn’t do to have a good life here and in the hereafter, this make it easy for them to learn how to obey Allah the almighty.
